richy

I haven't ever been able to properly put in to words how much I love this man.
If he could come down from the heavens every night and read me a bedtime story, I'd be more than pleased.

never follow a hippie to a second location

Thanks to a dear friend I have discovered a man by the name of Wendell Berry. He was born the same year as my grandmother in Henry County, Kentucky.

The Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

them birdz...

I wish future self, or former self in this sense, would've written a note to said former self, then present self. It may have gone a little something like this:
"LISTEN TO THAT STILL, SMALL VOICE"
Since present self didn't receive such a life-saving letter from former or future self, I'll just write it down now for future self:
"LISTEN TO THAT STILL, SMALL VOICE"
"I perceived that whatever G-d does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. G-d has done it, so that people fear before him. That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and G-d seeks what has been driven away." Ecclesiastes 3:14-15

oh martha, martha

Still haven't quite figured out what it means to forgive.
Still haven't quite figured out what it means to truly love.
Still haven't quite figured out what it means to be free.
I'm a double-minded man.
The future is just around the corner, yes, but there's something to be said about living in the now, and not worrying about the future. Silly Martha. Just listen.
AND HE WHO SAT UPON THE THRONE SAID, 'BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW.'
